Saying
The one amongst you with the longest hand will be the first to meet me.
Said when the wives discussed among themselves who would be the first of them to pass away after him ﷺ.
The wives of the Prophet ﷺ once talked among themselves about which of them would be the first to die after him. The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one amongst you with the longest hand will be the first to meet me." For several years after his death, the wives would stand against a wall and measure whose hand was longest. Then Zaynab bint Jahsh RA became the first of them to die. She was the most generous of the wives, known as the Mother of the Poor. They understood that by "the longest hand" he had meant the one who gave the most for the sake of Allah.
