~c. 3 AH, shortly after Uhud
Shortly after the Battle of Uhud, a companion who was drunk led the prayer and made serious mistakes in his recitation. Allah then revealed Surah al-Nisa, verse 43, which forbade believers from coming to the prayer while drunk.
This was the second phase of the gradual prohibition of alcohol. Because the five prayers are spread across the day, drinking was now in effect forbidden during the day. It remained allowed only between the Isha prayer and the time before Fajr.
Other events recorded around the same time. Their order within the year is not established; use the storyline above for the sequence.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنتُمْ سُكَارَىٰ
“Don't come close to the salah when you are drunk...”
Revealed after a drunk sahabi led the prayer and made serious recitation mistakes.
