الزُّبَيْرُ بن العَوَّام
The third of the four converts brought to Islam at the hands of Abu Bakr RA.
Al-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam RA was the Prophet ﷺ's first cousin through his mother Safiyyah bint Abd al-Muttalib RA, a nephew of Khadijah RA, and the husband of Asma bint Abi Bakr RA, father of Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr RA and Urwah. He accepted Islam early through Abu Bakr RA and emigrated to Abyssinia. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Every prophet has a disciple, and my disciple is al-Zubayr," after he volunteered to scout the Banu Qurayzah at the Trench.
A leading warrior, he rode one of only two horses at Badr, fought at Uhud and answered the call to Hamra al-Asad despite his wounds. Before the Conquest of Makkah he rode with Ali RA to recover Hatib's letter, and on the day of the Conquest he was given the banner of the Ansar.

Direct cousin of Muhammad ﷺ through his mother, Safiyyah bint Abdul Muttalib. The hawari (disciple/special companion) of the Prophet ﷺ.
“Those who responded to Allah and His Messenger after they were wounded, those of them who did good and were mindful [of Allah] will have a great reward.”
This is the asbab al-nuzul: Q3:172 praises those who responded to the call to march out (Hamra al-Asad) despite their Uhud wounds -- exactly what the post credits Zubayr for.
