صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ
Safiyyah bint Abd al-Muttalib RA was a paternal aunt of the Prophet ﷺ, the full sister of Hamzah RA, and the only daughter of Abd al-Muttalib known for certain to have accepted Islam. She was the mother of al-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam RA. At Uhud in 3 AH she came to the battlefield after Hamzah's death, obeyed the Prophet ﷺ's instruction not to see his mutilated body, and gave cloths to shroud him. During the siege of the Trench in 5 AH, sheltering with the women in a fortress, she went out alone at night and killed a Qurayzah scout, leading the enemy to believe the fortress was defended. She was buried in Baqi' al-Gharqad.
