A tribe from which a delegation of about nine people came to Madinah in the Year of Delegations (9 AH) asking the Prophet ﷺ to make du'a for them.
About nine men of Banu Kulf came to the Prophet ﷺ. They told him, "We have come to you so that you may pray for us for all good." The Prophet ﷺ made du'a for them, hosted them and fed them. They stayed in Madinah for a few days and prayed the Friday prayer with him. One of them, al-Hakam ibn Hazn RA, saw the Prophet ﷺ only this once. He remembered him giving the Friday sermon while holding up a staff or a bow, and he remembered one phrase from it. The Prophet ﷺ said, "O people, do what you can, and know that you will never be able to do everything you have been commanded to do, so cover up, and come as close as you can to what you are supposed to do."
