This unnamed woman was engaged to a young man of Banu Jadhimah who was among the prisoners Khalid ibn al-Walid RA executed in 8 AH, in an error of judgment for which Khalid was criticized and blood money was paid. According to Ibn Ishaq, before his execution the young man begged a Companion to take him to where the women were held. There he spoke to her and recited a love poem for her, and she wept aloud and answered him with a poem of her own. When he was executed, she took him in her arms, and he died there. When the Prophet ﷺ heard the story, his anger grew even greater, and he asked whether there had been no one with mercy in his heart to stop Khalid.
