This unnamed Bedouin answered Abu Sufyan's offer of a bounty for anyone who killed the Prophet ﷺ, around 6 AH. Abu Sufyan gave him a camel, food and weapons and sent him to Madinah. He arrived within six days with a made-up story that he wanted to accept Islam. As he entered the masjid, the Prophet ﷺ said, "This is a man who has treachery written on him." The Companions seized him, and a dagger fell from his belt. The Prophet ﷺ promised to let him go if he told the truth. The Bedouin confessed everything, the Prophet ﷺ kept his word and released him, and the man then accepted Islam.
