Around 7 or 8 AH, the Prophet ﷺ sent letters to the kings and rulers around Arabia. Among the replies was one from the ruler of the province of Bahrain. He wrote back sympathetically and sent the Prophet ﷺ a robe as a gift. It was one of the finest garments the Prophet ﷺ ever wore, and it is said to have been decorated with gold. The companions gathered around the Prophet ﷺ to look at it, amazed at its quality.
Two years after Sa'd RA's death the Prophet ﷺ was still thinking of him.
Told when Sa'd ibn Mu'adh RA was wounded: the Prophet ﷺ compared the finest robe he ever wore to Sa'd's handkerchief in Paradise.
