Details differ across the sources
Scholars differ on this wife's exact identity/name: at least six or seven opinions are recorded; "Fatima bint al-Dahhak" is one such opinion. The reason for her refusal on the wedding night is also unrecorded and only speculated upon (e.g. Ibn Hajar suggests she may have been mentally unwell; others suggest jealous relatives coached her).
The Prophet ﷺ proposed to and married Fatima bint al-Dahhak of the tribe of Kulab. On the night he went in to her, she said, "I seek Allah's refuge from you." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "You have sought refuge in One who is very great. Go back to your family."
He did not use the word "divorce". He used indirect language, known as kinaya, and that ended the marriage. It was never consummated.
No one recorded why she said what she did. Ibn Hajar suggests she was mentally unwell. Others say jealous relatives had told her to say it, and she did not understand what it meant.
Outcome: The marriage was dissolved unconsummated.
This incident shows both that indirect language may be used to effect a divorce and that the Prophet ﷺ did, in fact, divorce, countering a popular misconception that he never did. Fatima bint al-Dahhak later regretted her words for the rest of her life, saying she had chosen this world over the Prophet ﷺ.

How unfortunate am I that I chose this dunya over the Prophet ﷺ.
Said in lasting regret; she continued to say this until she died.
