Tamim al-Dari, a man of a Christian tribe from the north, came to Madinah as a delegate in the Year of Delegations (9 AH), swore allegiance, and became a Muslim.
Later, the Prophet ﷺ gathered the people in the mosque and related to them Tamim's account of a strange sea voyage. That account became one of the most debated hadiths about the Dajjal.
