Saying · A few days after the wedding
Heading out with the caravan to Syria.
~Before the birth of the Prophet ﷺ, c. 570 CE · 52 BH
Abdullah, the father of the Prophet ﷺ, married Aminah bint Wahab. A few days later he left with a trade caravan for Syria. He fell seriously ill on the way back. When the caravan reached Yathrib, the city later called Madinah, he chose to stay behind with relatives there rather than hold up the rest of the group. His grandmother, the mother of Abdul Muttalib, lived in Yathrib. Abdullah died there while Aminah was pregnant with their son. No one knows where he is buried.
